Amy Berns Leibner brings to Catalyst 25+ years of legal advising and communication skills. She applies her seasoned skillset in a senior legal advisory role on general business matters, in addition to reviewing commercial construction agreements and ensuring compliance.
Amy honed her legal skillset in her capacity as an associate attorney in two of NYC’s top law firms: Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and Solovay, Marshall & Edlin. As a Corporate Litigation Associate at Willkie Farr, Amy developed a niche in copyright infringement and media law, conducting extensive research on complex legal matters, as well drafting memoranda of law on issues arising from complicated cases representing high-profile multimedia corporations and clients, in addition to news outlets. Her specialty areas of the law focused on reporter’s privilege, copyright law and media law. Amy also was often tasked with reviewing and drafting terms of contracts, conducting due diligence, and researching varied areas of corporate law such as insurance and reinsurance, as well as employment law. As a Corporate Entertainment Attorney at Solovay Marshall & Edlin, Amy negotiated terms and drafted contracts for many high-profile emerging hip-hop music artists. The law firm routinely relied on Amy’s sound advice when discerning legal paths, and Amy’s focus was to narrow the scope of risk and liability. A graduate of Cardozo Law School, Amy was an editor of the Cardozo Law Review, a litigator and member of the Criminal Appeals Clinic, and a contributing writer for the Cardozo Law Forum.
For Catalyst, Amy reviews commercial construction transactions, leases, and vendor agreements with an eye toward minimizing risks and liabilities, and additionally ensures Catalyst’s compliance with Federal statutes, and state rules and regulations. She manages corporate governance, as well as assists in all aspects of Catalyst’s general operations, including hiring and onboarding. Applying her writing and editing skills, Amy crafts content for Catalyst’s website.
